When I first meet with a customer, we sit down and discuss their real estate goals (
I call this the meeting of the minds). When there is more then one buyer or seller involved, I ask to meet with all parties at the same time. This way everyone understands what is about to happen, when, why, and how these things will occur. This meeting also ensures that there are no misunderstandings or miscommunications through second hand information.
There are sometimes circumstances where meeting with all parties is not possible. In these situations, electronic communication becomes necessary. Although this may be a communication preference of some customers, I feel the initial meeting serves the customer better when held face-to-face. During this initial meeting, I learn what role real estate is to play in the lives of the customers. We discuss their financial situation, their likes and dislikes, their wants and needs, the preferred location for the buyer, comparables and price for the sellers, and many other things.
From this point forward, we are in constant communication. It does not matter if you are a buyer or a seller.
You are now my client! From this point on our initial face-to-face communication widens. We begin to communicate through e-mails, telephone calls, faxes, home visits and snail mail. This communication will continue throughout the closing of your transaction. Constant communication is the key to bring about a successful real estate closing.
At
Superior Homes Realty, we have initial packets of information for both our buyers and our sellers. These packets contain information that a client will need to have during their transaction. Going over the packet will give the buyer or seller a full understanding of the purchase/selling process. My job is to make sure that the buyer and seller thoroughly understand the information in each packet prior to closing. The initial meeting normally takes anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 hours. When this meeting ends, the buyers and sellers will have all the information they need to complete a smooth transaction.
